GHANA & WITH[out]WASTE

BLOG - GHANA & WITH[out]WASTE - Nnoboa Space

Conversations on creativity, collaboration and the ideas we build together. Nnoboa Space takes its name from a Ghanaian tradition of working together: you help me on my farm today, I help you on yours tomorrow. Between Accra and Takoradi, we work with Nnoboa Space and young creatives in fashion and media who want to build brands with purpose.

Project & context

Nnoboa Space began in [PRÜFEN: 2023] in [PRÜFEN: Takoradi] as a programme for circular design education and youth empowerment. It is a place where young people learn, make and share – and where design becomes a tool to shape their own future.

Together with Nnoboa Space, we work with young creatives in fashion and media between Accra and Takoradi. In our workshops, Creative Identity and Conscious Brand Building, practical tools meet deeper reflection: participants work on production, brand strategy, storytelling and positioning – the questions every young label faces once the first pieces exist.

Makers markets and panels complete the programme. They give young talents what is often hardest to get: visibility, access and real opportunities to grow. For us, this is not a side project. It connects directly to why IMPARI exists – our name means "unequal", and education is one of the strongest ways we know to change that.

[ERGÄNZEN: Name] is [ERGÄNZEN: Rolle, z. B. Co-Founder / Workshop Lead / Participant] at Nnoboa Space and has been part of the programme since [ERGÄNZEN: Jahr]. [ERGÄNZEN: ein Satz dazu, was die Person macht – z. B. eigenes Label, Medienprojekt, Studium].

Current status

Since [ERGÄNZEN: Startjahr der Zusammenarbeit], we have run [ERGÄNZEN: Anzahl] workshops with Nnoboa Space, working with [ERGÄNZEN: Anzahl] young creatives from fashion and media. [ERGÄNZEN: Satz zu Makers Markets und Panels – wie viele, wo, z. B. „Two makers markets in Accra and Takoradi gave participants their first public stage.“]

What has grown out of this is more than a programme: a network of people who share contacts, skills and ideas [PRÜFEN: Trifft das so zu?]. Some participants have since [ERGÄNZEN: konkretes Ergebnis, z. B. ihr eigenes Label gegründet, eine erste Kollektion gezeigt oder an einem IMPARI-Projekt mitgearbeitet].

The work is still in progress, and we want to measure it honestly – not by how many people take part, but by what they are able to build afterwards. [PRÜFEN: Passt diese Haltung zu euch?]

Next steps

Next, we want to [ERGÄNZEN: nächster konkreter Schritt, z. B. „bring the workshop series to Accra in spring 2027“ oder „open the next makers market to new participants“]. [PRÜFEN: Over time, we want to connect the programme more closely with WITH[out]WASTE, so that participants can also work with materials made from recycled plastics.]

If you would like to support Nnoboa Space or get involved, [ERGÄNZEN: Kontaktweg, z. B. „write to us at …“ oder „find out more on our Educational Projects page“].
